OPEN ACCESS INITIATIVE

Currently, access to fashion studies is often gated behind the hallowed halls of academic institutions. Meanwhile, mainstream fashion media remains dominated by aesthetics and consumer-led content that reinforces narrow, Eurocentric narratives and fashion systems.

Annotating Fashion exists to bridge that divide, making rigorous fashion discourse accessible to everyone.

To support this mission, we provide a limited number of barrier-free memberships each month for students, independent researchers, and fashion enthusiasts facing financial hurdles.

Our Trust-Based Application

Because we are a small, independent platform funded by our readers, these spots are only made possible by our paid members.
With this in mind we ask that you complete this short form honestly so we can ensure these memberships reach those who need them most.

All information provided is strictly confidential and used only to assess eligibility and monitor the diversity of our community.
